Many stitchers make beautiful and useful items using only an all-purpose presser foot. So why do sewing machines come with 5, 8, or even 12 presser feet? And why are there dozens of presser feet and accessories available as optional tools to make your sewing machine sing and dance? This class answers these questions while discussing a variety of presser feet and sewing techniques that will expand your definition of sewing.
What is Mixed Media Sewing? (lecture)
Find the answer to this question as you discover how to add depth, detail, and dimension to your projects by combining your sewing with art and scrapbooking techniques. These techniques are easy to incorporate into your work and are all simple to learn–even for beginners! Included in the class is a trunk show featuring mini art quilts and other sew/art projects.
MAQs (Mini Art Quilt) (sewing)
Try this fun way of sewing, embracing your creativity while learning useful techniques that can be used in a variety of sewing situations. Mini art quilts are no-stress projects that can be as simple or as complex as you want. This class explores multiple ways to create mini art quilts, and you will leave the class with your own mini art quilt.
Easy Embellishments (sewing)
One of the most satisfying things about sewing is that you can have lots of fun using your creative juices. Join us for a day of creativity and fun as we learn variety of embellishment techniques using 10+ specialty presser feet. Learn to add color, create texture and join fabrics in decorative ways as we explore these creative and easy techniques.
