I’m not usually a big Black Friday shopper but I decided to brave the crowds and go to a couple of fabric stores today. I’m happy to say that it was worth the effort as I picked up a few pieces of fabric at great prices. It is not a big haul because I am still moving from place to place. If all goes well, we will be moving into our new house in mid-December. In the meantime, I can’t add too many fabrics to my limited sewing space because I am still sewing out of a suitcase.

Traveling Stash

I found some great lightweight cotton canvas prints that I think will be perfect for decorative pillows, quilted purses, and simple tote bags. I only bought half yard cuts because of my limited space but I have eight different prints that I really like. I also bought a roll of precut strips for one reason (besides the price). The color combination of the fabric strips – navy, teal, and green – is my favorite! Have no idea what I’ll make from them but I’m sure I’ll think of something.

I’ll share my projects with you as I make them. Hope your Turkey Day was great and your Black Friday shopping as satisfying as mine. Happy Stitching!
