Today is the first day of January which means that 2025 is officially here! If you read my latest newsletter, you know about my sewing resolutions for the coming year. In case you missed it, keep reading to see the goals I have made for the new year. I’m making three resolutions for 2025, and they all have to do with sewing. I’m not always the best at keeping resolutions but this year I’m determined to hold onto them. Keep reading to see the resolutions I am making to be more intentional about my sewing space, my fabrics and notions, and the projects I make.
Resolution #1: Shop My Stash
I have decided to have a No Spend resolution in 2025 (for my work – I’m still buying shoes). I have lots of fabrics, notions, and art supplies so I am not buying more. I have more yardage than I thought and a massive amount of fabric scraps, so there’s plenty to keep me going. I don’t know if I can commit to a full year, so my goal is to stop shopping for sewing supplies for three months, January, February, and March. Then I will reevaluate the situation to see if I still have enough stash to continue. If you have a large fabric stash and multiple gadgets and tools, join me as I try to keep my sewing “inventory” from overwhelming my space and curbing my creativity.
Resolution #2: Complete All of My UFOs
I have been decluttering and organizing my sewing space and supplies, a little at a time, over the last 2+ years. One of the things I want to focus on in 2025 is my UFOs – Unfinished Objects. These are all small projects that can be finished fairly quickly so I’m not even sure why I put them aside but I’m ready to complete them so I can start new ones with a clear conscience. The photo below shows a few bits and pieces of some of the projects that I’ve started and then stopped mid-way to the finish line. I have twelve projects that I want to complete so I am going to finish one each month in 2025.

Resolution #3: Expand My YouTube Channel
This resolution is indirectly a sewing goal. In 2023/2024 I set a goal of 100 videos and 1000 subscribers to my You Tube channel. I now have 1.3K subscribers with 117 videos posted (more to come!). There are Foot Notes, which are short videos that show sewing techniques using both specialty presser feet and everyday feet. You’ll also find other videos about general sewing, mixed media sewing, and sewing space organization. My resolution/goal for 2025 is to pass the 200 mark in videos and increase my subscribers to 2000. If you haven’t subscribed to the Sewfeet YouTube Channel, please do so to get free sewing content and to help me reach my goals. I have new classes, free videos, and Live Videos scheduled for 2025 that you won’t want to miss. Thanks for your support and I hope you have a Happy New Year!
As Always,
